Could anybody please advise a good bike rally to attend 21/5/10, we are use to english rallies ie bands, beer and a good laugh. we will travel from uk to osnabruck for a rally on the weekend prior to the above date, then ride down to varna where girlfriend has an apartment. As long as rally is within 200 miles and is friendly not bothered if back patch or not as we get on with most people. Could u please advise admission price etc and what sort of format ie camping etc?? We are from a small mcc in ipswich england Black shuck mcc can be found at www.blackshuck.org.

Hey, I would suggest the one in Monatana - 21st till 23rd of May. I guess our rallies are the same like yours - beer, bands, bike games and more beer... and interesting bike games. The president of the club is my friend, I'll ask for a program and will translate it for you, it is not ready yet, kind of early, but I've been to this one few years in a row and it is good. Not very big - like 1000 people, next to a beautiful lake and awesome mountain twisty roads to ride. Many interesting places to visit in that region also.
A map: http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&sourc ... CAkQ8gEwAA
Place to visit: http://www.belogradchik.biz/belogradchi ... ks.en.html
They have a place for tents, but nice also cabins - about 10 eur per night, but need a reservation in advance. The admition fee for the rally is 3-4 eur, as the the tent place is free.

Greetings,
Poly

Dear Poly,
Thanks for all the info!! Is it possible to book a cabin for 2 persons for the rally at Montana? I can either pay when we arrive or Paypal the money to you if you supply your email address.I hope the trike is upto a long trip!!!! just worked it out, osnabruck to regensburg 363 miles then stop at spielfeld in austria 282miles(easy day),then on to popovac serbia 423 miles then to montana 147 miles (another easy day).Couple of days at the rally then off to varna 311miles and chill out for a few days.Trip back via bulgaria, romania , hungary , slovenia, germany , holland and back to sunny ENGLAND!!
Does the bike cafe at spielfeld have any camping facilities?? i am not proud a bit of grass 3m x 2m would do
We leave on 12th may for rally at vorden should arrive 13th at lunch time, party for 3 days then off to montana via the above.Should test my language skills to the max as i only speak english

Just hope it does not rain, i hate riding in the rain!! Also do you know if i need a helmet on a trike in Austria,Slovenia,Croatia,Serbia, hungary or Romania?? Coz i got caught in holland and fined 90 euros

Hope everythings going well and enjoy your trip your planning on your Harley!! If you ever want to come to the UK YOU ARE MORE THAN WELCOME TO STAY AT MY HOUSE!!

Cheers

Well, finally I can answer, we were at Cincinnati dealer show - a long trip from Alabama, now we are at home. Yes, I contacted the president of the club and he booked for you a 2 bed cabin, we just have to confirm around 15th of may. He will be happy to have you there, he is a real nice guy. His nick name is Suri. About the Harley run, I'm not sure yet, will let you know, but our campground will be open, we have a friend working there, so you are more than welcome to stop and have a beer, spend the night if it's your plans or just chill out.
About Spielfeld - Las legas motocamp - this is our friend Verner biker bar and they have beds and a tent place, so it is up to you. But visit, it is a very nice place and Verner cooks so good. When you go there, just tell him that me and Doug send you there and he will take a good care for you. You can see his website at out favorite links on our website.
I'm not sure about the helmets on trikes, we have trikes and I see some are wearing, other don't, I will try to find out.
Take care, I'm looking forward to meet you!

HI pPoly and Doug, opps develped a stutter
Your last email confused me a bit !!! cincinati , alabama didnt realise they were in Bulgaria!!
only just twigged that you live in the USA , doh i do have a brain but sometimes it just dont engage :P bit like my trike lol!!
Hope everything is going well and planning for the bimble/tour is advancing well, along with the bike build. Must admit i miss my bikes however due to a bridge jumpimg out in front of me, i am restricted to my trikes  Was hoping to upgrade the engine to a 2 litre air cooled porsche but works a bit tight so have to wait till next year!
Keep smiling and have a great bike season.
All the best

Hey Tony, You can go there Thursday, the guys will take care of you, I spoke with the president of the club, very nice guy and he will "attach" you to another club's ("The black roses") president - Emo to be your gide. He is our good friend also. The code for Montana is 3400, the president's phone is: 0878257058 - Suri his nick name. So, call him when you arrive and he will take very good care of you, I'm sure. :D
http://www.augusta-bg.com/about-us.php - this is the link of the place.
Take care and have a save trip,

hello just read all the stuff on the Montana rally. Hello tony/ Elrond I am in Veliko Turnovo give me a call and lets meet up . 00359 896936838 is my BG mobile. Turnovo is a very very nice town. I am hoping to go to a vintage rally in Russe so unless I cant find it I will not be in Montana, sorry but I am really interested in the old stuff. I am here on my bike too although it is quite young ,just 20years, a Gilera Nordwest.
The countryside here is amazing with tracks and decent paths going across mountains. It is like the Pecos de Europa 30 years ago before the control freaks stopped motorcycle access.
