8-29 Isle of Man, old bikes

Postby doug » Thu Sep 01, 2005 12:05 am

The Manx GP sure brings out the old bikes, from 100 point restorations to ratty originals (my favorites) lots of cool custom cafe racers too.
there something for everyone, unless of course your into those dumb 50,000.00 'choppers' that are all over the place back home. I didnt see a damn one, and it sure was nice.

cool Triton from england (triumph motor in a norton chassis)

Old BSA sloper, early 30's

Douglas Draganfly ( I wanna Douglas, just cuz of the name)

Ariel square four with sidecar, the guy riding it had a fake leg.

A pair of nice old harleys (there ya go, Dan)

I didnt know Husqvarna made bikes this far back, the v-twin with the sidecar was really cool

This is Pete, who I met by selling him some Triumph parts. I was gonna work on his pit crew, but he ended up not racing. He lives in Ramsey, and has alot of cool bikes. Very nice guy too
Here he is starting his Italian built harley factory racebike

A Triumph Trident he races, and a Mike Hailwood Ducati

Doug,

Those old Husqvarnas are soooo COOL! I love the v-twin. That Douglas is nice too... You gotta get one of those some day.

to build on the success of the Post Classic race we’ve expanded the eligibility criteria to widen the experience of the field and to preserve an era in time that sits comfortably between the classic era and modern. Race fans can look forward to a good field and competitive racing on the TT Course ”

The Manx Motor Cycle Club Committee is working positively to build on the success of this year's races and is intending to run a similar full programme for 2010.
